Atilis Gym Owner Ian Smith Running For Congress After Making Headlines Defying COVID Lockdown

BELLMAWR, N.J. (CBS) — The Bellmawr gym owner who made national headlines by remaining open during the COVID-19 lockdowns is now running for Congress. Ian Smith announced his candidacy in New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District on Thursday.

Smith is running in the Republican primary. He says his platform will focus on liberty and small government.

Democrat Andy Kim is the incumbent.

The 3rd District serves Burlington and Ocean Counties.
